Laters Unicorns, The Dragon Frappuccino Is Far Cooler

This morning, spare a thought for Starbucks baristas. Whipping up all those Unicorn Frappuccinos has barely left them time to breathe and now, there’s a fabulously frothy new kid on the block that everybody’s after. Presenting the Dragon Frappuccino.

If rumours are to be believed, this blossoming trend was sparked by inventive baristas who had run out of the limited edition unicorn ingredients.

Not ones to disappoint excited customers, they served up “a green tea frap with vanilla bean powder and some berry cup swirl” and gave it a sexy Game of Thrones-inspired title instead.

The result is less sweet, much cooler to Instagram and – baristas get ready to celebrate – far easier to make. However, it doesn’t seem to be an official Starbucks release, so you might want to start working on your persuasive skills to get your local cafe on board with your new order.

Here’s hoping your barista is creatively inclined, because according to what a Starbucks spokesperson told Bustle, there are “more than 170,000 ways baristas can customise beverages, including selecting from a variety of milk, syrups, espresso options and toppings”.

The best way to get a Dragon Frappuccino in your hands? “If you want to order a beverage that is not listed on our menu boards, know the recipe so that your barista can handicraft it perfectly,” they say.

So, order a Green Tea Frappuccino with added vanilla bean powder and ask for a swirl of berry syrup at the bottom of the cup. Ta da!
