Last month, the former Spice Girls made our WHOLE year by announcing that they’re having a reunion.
It all started out with a few Instagram posts of the five girls meeting up in London to discuss what they’ll do – and it’s safe to say the internet went mental for it.
Posh Spice Vicky B posted a shot of the five girls to her Instagram account and captioned it, “Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X Exciting x #friendshipneverends #girlpower”
Turns out even their old manager Simon Fuller was in on the Spice-reunion, as Victoria then shared a pic of the five girls with him.
Just in case anyone wasn’t sure who he was, she captioned it, “Love u all so much!!! X Such a great day!! Thank u Simon! X VB”
The last time the five girls were all together in official Spice Girls business was back in 2012 at the London 2012 Olympics.
Since then, the idea of another proper reunion has been shunned on numerous occasions, including recently when Victoria told Vogue, “I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour. It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely.
“I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely”.
However, all is not lost because there is talk of them doing “a few shows”, and the only reason they’re ruling out a world tour is because these five women have families, businesses and other jobs they can’t just walk out of to go on the road. Fair play really.
And with talks that things aren’t so rosey in the house of Beckham after David revealed he’s moving to Miami to start up his own soccer team, at least this little side-line Spice project will keep Vicky B preoccupied away from her kids and fashion line.
Does this spell the end for the Beckham partnership as we know it? We do hope not!
As much as this quite surprising turn of events will mean the Beckhams’ have a long-distance marriage – at least for a while, they’ve got enough cash to fly to and from the UK to Miami so unlike the rest of us, they can ACTUALLY do that.
We know the reunion should include a few possible shows in the pipeline, some sort of TV talent show – considering back in the day they had films and dolls, anything could happen!
Lets just hope their kids are as excited as us about this 90s throwback reunion, and not just embarrassed about their mums’ previous careers.
