It only feels like yesterday we were popping our Wannabe cassette into our hi-fi, blaring it for hours on end (much to the annoyance of the rest of the family).

But now it’s been confirmed that the most legendary girlband of all time are reuniting – over 20 years since first forming – and will treat pop music fans to the ultimate 90s concert experience. Here’s what we know so far…

What’s the plan?

Entertainment journalist Dan Wootton has seemingly bagged an exclusive with the group, being the first to announce some pretty exciting information.

According to his report, only four of the band will be returning – Geri, Mel C, Emma and Mel B – while Victoria Beckham is sitting this one out *sobs*. But it’s all systems go nevertheless, as the four-piece are set to announce their reunion later today.

They’re said to have recorded a video message confirming the news, which will be broadcast to the world via social media at 3pm today. As if Bonfire Night wasn’t exciting enough!

Plus a very recent promo image of the girls seems to confirm they’re actually back together, and don’t they just look amazing?!

The band’s official Twitter account also just tweeted a little teaser, getting us beyond excited for what’s to come later today:

Are they going on tour?

The announcement will include the confirmation of a big British stadium tour next summer – the first since their last reunion tour back in 2007. Details are thin on the ground right now, but it’s expected they’ll play stadiums in several major cities across the UK, which are pretty much guaranteed to sell out.

Dates for the tour are set to be revealed tomorrow and Jess Glynne is currently being floated as their support act.

Will there be new music?

Right now, we don’t know. When Spice Girls reformed momentarily in 2007, they did drop a new single (Headlines is a bop, fight me), so there could be some fresh tunes in the pipeline for fans.

We definitely can’t wait to see what unravels following the alleged announcement later today. Keep checking back here for more information as we get it!
