Scarlett Moffatt has taken on her biggest gig to date – presenting at this year’s National Television Awards – and look who was there to cheer her on!
Despite being loved up with boyfriend Luke Crodden, Scarlett invited her beloved dad and ‘Gogglebox’ co-star Mark to walk the red carpet with her at London’s O2 Arena.
Having scooped the huge job – hosting live for ITV from backstage at the glitzy awards – it seems she wanted only Mark firmly by her side.
Sharing a picture of herself and Mark on Twitter, Scarlett said: “Got my date for the red carpet, my bestie, my dad #NTAS.”
But how did the reality star snare such a massive role?
Less than three years ago, Scarlett was a little known face, having appeared on MTV’s ‘Beauty School Copout’.
In 2014, she landed a spot on Channel 4’s ‘Gogglebox’, alongside Mark and her mother Betty, and her quick wit and humour soon made her a favourite of the show.
But 26-year-0ld Scarlett’s big break came after winning the 2016 series of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’.
Past winners have gone on to work for ITV in some form or another (who can forget Vicky Pattison’s stint on ‘Loose Women’…no, us neither #oops) so it was no great shock when the television company offered her the NTA backstage presenting gig.
And despite some critics claiming she was not up to it, Scarlett appears to have gone down well with viewers at home.
One fan tweeted: “Go Scarlett, you’re doing great #NTAS.” Another added: “Scarlett, you’re a breath of fresh air tonight. So nice to see someone so excited just to be there! And you’re looking fab.”
Could this be the beginning of a new presenting career for Scarlett, or will work fizzle up once a new King or Queen Of The Jungle is crowned?
Only time will tell…
