Yes, we know awards shows are about praising incredible talent. But for normal non-Hollywood folk, it’s also a chance for us to see a slither of what life might be like on the other side. Starting with the red carpet, which, at this year’s SAG Awards, was awash with swathes of satin, luminous whites and incredible vintage details.
Here are some of the looks that really caught our attention.
Emma Stone, winner of the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Award, looked incredible in this romantic black lace design by Alexander McQueen. The a-symmetrical gown featured a cascade of sheer, floral fabric on one side, and a glimpse of a bodice on the other.
Kirsten Dunst appeared practically ethereal in this tiered number by Dior. She teamed the dress with a multi-layered collar necklace and a slick of crimson lipstick.
One of our favourite – but arguably Marmite – looks of the evening was that of Janelle Monae’s ruffle-festooned Victorian dress.
The singer-turned-actress also displayed some pretty impressive accessorizing. Check out that manicure:
Evan Rachel Wood
The Westworld star isn’t about to give up on the feminist suit statement anytime soon. And we’re delighted about it, too. Love this navy blue velvet Altuzarra tuxe on her:
She just keeps on getting better and better. Another smoking Jessica Rabbit-esque look from the Game of Thrones stalwart. Her dress is by Louis Vuitton:
Speaking of Game of Thrones stars, Maisie Williams went for old school Hollywood glamour in this pink satin gown by Charlie Brear. She kept the look updated with an on-trend dark lipstick and matching manicure.
The Jackie actress looked practically regal in this voluminous white number by Dior.
Newton gave an incredible performance in Westworld – and appeared to carry the theme on in the sequin-strewn Schiaparelli dress she chose to wear to the SAG Awards:
Downton star Michelle Dockery stood out from the crowd in this candy-striped Elie Saab dress:
