Its wet, its grey, Donald Trump is detaining people in airports, the NHS is collapsing and we’re making a hard turn out of the EU that is already seeing hundreds of our friends and family up sticks and leave.

Which is why we were overly ecstatic to see Millie Bobby Brown and her trusty Stranger Things cohorts win big at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards last night.

The young friends were awarded for their ‘Outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series’, beating the likes of Game Of Thrones, Westworld, Downton Abbey and The Crown to take home the prize.

Meanwhile, Emma Stone picked up the award for Best Actress in a motion picture for her role in La La Land.

“Oh my God, I think I’m going to faint,” she said on the podium with her head in her hands.

Quickly recovering, she went on to add: “We’re in a tricky time in the world and our country and things are inexcusable and scary and need action.

“I’m so grateful to be part of a group of people that cares and wants to reflect things back to society.”
