The Queen last night called for an emergency meeting to take place at 10am today with her staff from across the country.

Instantly, the speculation was rife about the health of all the members of the royal family, in particular, Prince Philip who is 95.

But today Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Philip will be retiring from royal duties.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, 95, will no longer be taking on public engagements, but the Queen will continue on with all duties. And it’s safe to say, Twitter was more than underwhelmed by the announcement after the initial hysteria. We think it’s pretty hilarious. Prince Philip basically broke the internet with all the hype…
