If we were Prada, we’d be pretty peeved, though safe in the knowledge our versions probably won’t fall apart on the third time of wearing.
But quality hasn’t stopped shoppers going crazy of a pair of shoes that look exactly like the Italian fashion house’s SS17 design without the hefty price tag.
The original Prada slide-ons will set you back a rents’ worth of £530. Meanwhile, the dupes from Primark cost just £8 a pair.
Primark shared an image of the shoes, in question in a spring-like Instagram post last week. So far, its notched up more than 26,000 likes.
The big difference between the Primark and the Prada version is that the former comes in black, pink and denim, and also contains a larger, tie-wrap bow than the Prada versions. They’re also completely synthetic.
According to the messages left by fans on the post, the shoes have been selling out all over the shop, with many complaining their local stores had run out.
“I can’t find these pink ones anywhere in the UK in a size 7 …. been to about 5 Primarks across the country! I need them!!” one person said.
“I need someone to buy these for me and ship them to the US of A. Please?” another said.
Primark better up their supply. We predict this style will keep on selling out well into the summer.
