Sweet Valley High film

Hands up how many summers you spent pawing over the saccharine, so-American-they-hurt Sweet Valley High books? How about the equally mesmerising TV series? How many of you still actually style reference the twin’s 90s preppy chic on a daily basis?

Well, we have some great news for you. According to Deadline, a Sweet Valley High movie is on the horizon, and it’s in some surprisingly good hands.

The writer behind Reese Witherspoon’s Legally Blonde and 10 Things I Hate About You will be in charge of bringing the series to the big screen with co-writer Harper Dill.

The book series was originally created by Francine Pascal and released in 1983. It followed the angsty lives of blonde-haired, blue-eyed twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield.
