Here’s What’s Coming To Netflix UK In December 2018

If Netflix is your favourite thing on earth, prepare yourself to love it even more as 2018 draws to a close. This December, a whole host of great flicks and series are dropping on the streaming platform, just in time for you to binge watch them all over the Christmas break.

Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle

Release date: 7th December

Andy Serkis directs this Jungle Book spin-off, delving deeper into the life of its main human character, Mowgli. But don’t expect happy-clappy Disney feels or tap-dancing tunes – it’s a lot darker, rawer and all-round deeper than its fairytale predecessor.

Watership Down

Release date: 25th December

There’s no trailer for this new mini-series yet, but many of us will already recognise its title from our childhood years. In a collaboration between Netflix and BBC, our favourite countryside characters are coming back to life, with big names such as James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Gemma Arterton, John Boyega and Olivia Colman lending their voices to its starring creatures.

Nailed it! Holiday

Release date: 7th December

Love this baking fail show? Well how about a whole episode dedicated to Christmas-themed disasters? We’re sold! Join the usual Nailed It! crew for a one-off special, which will see festive treats tumble and crumble in hilarious (yet tasty) scenes.

Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable

Release date: 18th December

Yep, your girl does stand-up too! She’s been preeeetty busy hosting her own chat show for the past few years, but now Ellen’s back with her first comedy special in 15 years. If you’re a fan of her on-screen lolz, then you’ll definitely enjoy this and all the belly laughs that are sure to come with it.

The Innocent Man

Release date: 14th December

There’s no trailer for this crime docuseries just yet, but we already can’t wait for it to drop. Move over Making a Murderer, as this six-part show tells the real-life tale of two murders that shook a small town in Oklahoma back in the eighties – and was later turned into a non-fiction book by John Grisham. What could be more festive than that?!

In the mood for some highbrow viewing? This black and white flick won the Golden Lion at this year’s Venice Film Festival and is now tipped for Oscar success. Roma follows the life of a maid working in a middle-class Mexican home during the politically uncertain times of the 1970s, and it’s as dramatic as it is touching.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale

If you’re already addicted to this Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot, then you’re in luck, because a one-off Christmas special is arriving on Netflix this December.
