Netflix are apparently working on a nifty function that could make vegging out in front of the TV more fun than it has ever been.
Tech whizzes are said to be testing out a new ‘Choose Your Own Ending’ option, which means viewers could see programmes wrap up exactly how they want.
Although it is a long way off, if it even happens that is, but it could put an end to the disappointment we’ve all felt when that happy ending never came.
Marley and Me, anyone? Where was that new puppy?!
A Netflix source told the Daily Mail: “We’re doing work on branch narratives so you are actually making choices as you watch.
“All the content will be there, and then people will have to get through it in different ways.
“We’ll see how it plays out. It’s an experiment. We’ll see if it gets much success. For creators, it’s new territory.”
Apparently, Netflix is hoping to run a children’s series with the function first, before rolling it out into more grown-up viewing.
Never has there been anything so exciting since Year Six, when you got to pick a well-thumbed Goosebumps: Readers Beware You Choose The Scare from the school library.
