We’re mere days away from the launch of Rihanna’s own-brand beauty range Fenty Beauty *squeals* and we could not be more excited after seeing the latest promo.
Bad gal Riri and the official Fenty Beauty Instagram account dropped a lengthy teaser this week, featuring a diverse range of stunning and stylish models.
Shot by legendary fashion photography duo Inez and Vinoodh, the inclusive clip gives us a sneak peek at some of her products, most notably the first one we’ll all want to snap up: lip gloss.
However, it’s about a lot more than lip gloss. Rihanna’s made the launch a fully-fledged celebration of women of colour, pushing against the norms of the white-washed beauty industry and rebalancing the scales of representation.
So, who are the women behind this groundbreaker of a beauty campaign? Let’s meet a handful of them…
New York-based plus-size beauty Paloma has been seen on the pages of Vogue, i-D and Glamour, as well as fronting campaigns for H&M and Nike.
20-year-old Slick Woods is known for her gapped teeth, buzz cut, and all-round bad gal attitude, landing her spots in pretty much every fashion mag world wide.
Doll-like Duckie rose to fame through Australia’s Next Top Model, going on to model alongside Rihanna in Paper magazine and walk in her Fenty x Puma autumn/winter 2017 show.
Somali-American model Halima has broken numerous boundaries in the fashion world, being the first hijab-wearing model to be signed by a major agency, before nabbing cover spots on Vogue Arabia and Allure.
Brazilian babe Camila has posed for Vogue Italia and Valentino, plus she speaks Portuguese, French and English. Talented, much?
Louisiana-born Selena may not even be 18 yet, but she’s already taking the fashion world by storm, fronting campaigns for the likes of DKNY and Proenza Schouler.
With a diverse African America, Cuban and Cherokee heritage, striking model Indyamarie has collaborated with the likes of Adidas, Apple and Google, as well as being pretty major on Instagram.
South Londoner Leomie kick-started her modelling career on TV show The Model Agency, and has since taken to the runway for Yeezy season one and two, as well as becoming a Victoria’s Secret angel.
We can’t wait to see even more from these incredible women as Fenty Beauty grows. For now, put 8 September in your diaries!
