Have you always felt like the star or angel on top of your tree is just not quite good enough? Well, McDonald’s has launched a special edition McNugget bauble which naturally is going to look so much better. If you’d ever wondered what a McNugget might look like on your tree (never), now you can find out. How festive!
The fast-food chain has teamed up with renowned bauble designer Bombki – who supply baubles to Fortnum & Mason – so they’re pretty snazzy and a big deal okay? Each bauble features the much-loved McNugget adorned with a Santa hat and is made from mouth-blown glass. Probably the most fancy thing McDonald’s has done since its VIP pop-up restaurant launched. It’s McNugget festive decoration madness we tell you!
But how big of a fan are you? Will you put your McD’s bauble on your tree this festive season? You don’t need to stop at baubles either because there will also be McNugget lights and a Christmas jumper, which has been modelled around London by reality stars Jack Fincham, Joey Essex and Chris Hughes this week – aka the three un-wise men.
So what’s the whole point of the festive products?
To push McDonald’s ‘Reindeer Ready’ campaign. Ben Fox, Marketing Director at McDonald’s, said: “Our new Reindeer Ready campaign aims to remind customers that we are there when they need us at this time of year – from a Christmas shopping coffee break to a pre-party burger or even a mid-present delivery carrot stop.”
We’re not convinced it’s the best campaign the brand has ever done, but the lure of the McNugget tree is too much not to secretly love it. Want in? Click here to enter the competition to win your own McNugget merch. We can just picture it now in shared flats and uni halls around the country. You could even keep those bad boy lights up all year round. Or maybe surprise your mum and switch our her new white lights for these kitsch offerings? Maybe she won’t even notice…
