Love Island stars Montana Brown and Alex Beattie have confirmed their split just weeks after leaving the Majorcan villa where they met and spent their summer.
The couple, who finished fifth in the ITV2 reality show, announced the sad news on Tuesday morning after rumours began swirling that they had broken up.
Montana took to Twitter to tell fans that she and Alex had decided to call things quits after struggling to make their relationship “work on the outside”.
“He hasn’t been the same since coming out of the villa,” she wrote, prompting speculation that Alex had proved to be more of a party boy than his seemingly introverted personality suggested during the seven-week long series.

Shortly afterwards, Alex also had his say, writing that he still holds “strong feelings” for Montana and will be “supporting her throughout everything”.

Since leaving Love Island, the pair have been, to quote Montana, “doing their own thing”. She has been travelling to LA as a brand ambassador for Pretty Little Thing while pursuing her dream of becoming a TV presenter while he has been making personal appearances at nightclubs and modelling for Boohoo.
The show’s winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies are still going strong, posting loved-up photos on social media, while runners-up Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewett are in Greece helping out at a refugee camp together.
Third placers Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood also remain an item, despite having to deny that she had cheated on him with a Blackburn Rovers footballer after compromising photos appeared in a tabloid paper.
