Hugh Grant, Andrew Lincoln and Keira Knightley will all be hitting our screens next week for the Love Actually sequel – and here’s the official trailer!
Having signed up to the Red Nose Day special, along with the majority of the cast from the hit 2003 movie, Andrew has taken centre stage in the 20-second preview.
In the clip, released by the BBC, Andrew is stood with The Cards made famous by his lovesick character Mark.
But rather than a dodgy CD of carol singers, the iconic Love Actually Beach Boys tune ‘God Only Knows’ can be heard as he tells viewers in that special non-verbal way of his: “Hello, I just wanted to ask, without hope or agenda.
“(And just because it’s nearly Red Nose Day). That you’ll join us for a very special reunion.
“Called Red Nose Day Actually. On Friday 24th March, BBC One. ACTUALLY.”
News of a Love Actually sequel broke last month, with director and Comic Relief trustee Richard Curtis telling The Guardian: “I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually, but I thought it might be fun to see what everyone is now up to. Who has aged best? I guess that’s the big question…or is it so obviously Liam?
“We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part – and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later.”
It is thought the only cast member not taking part is Emma Thompson, as her on-screen husband, played by Alan Rickman, sadly passed away in 2016.
Exactly what is in store for fans is being kept tight-lipped, but we do know that Andrew’s character Mark is still friends with Peter, despite his doorstep declaration to wife Juliet.
Bring it on. Actually.
Comic Relief, 7pm, Friday 24 March, BBC One.
