Disney’s has released its first trailer for the live action remake of ‘The Lion King’ and it looks awesome. The film is expected to premiere during summer 2019 and it boasts an all star cast including Beyoncé (Nala), David Glover (Simba), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar) and Seth Rogan.
This first trailer contains the memorable scene of Rafiki presenting a young Simba to the animals of the Pride Lands, which suggests the original storyline will remain.
As you know, in the original movie Nala is betrothed to marry her best friend, King Mufasa’s son – Simba. This is before all the drama with evil Uncle Scar and his stampeding wildebeests begins.
Twitter went crazy with reactions with many fans of the original ‘The Lion King’ Movie comparing the two versions.

It’s actually quite scary thinking how insanely well this film will do. It’s many people’s favourite childhood movie, combined with their favourite pop star – Beyoncé. Records will surely be broken left, right and centre, especially after Beauty and the Beast smashed the March 2017 opening record with its mega £135 million opening weekend. Favreau’s last live action effort, The Jungle Book, was a hit with critics and earned over £770 million.
