You probably know her best as Orange Is The New Black’s Sophia Burset, but now transgender actress, model and LGBTQ+ activist Laverne Cox has a landed a totally different gig that involves sportswear and Beyoncé.
Fronting Queen Bey’s latest campaign for her activewear brand Ivy Park, Cox shows off some of the pieces from its autumn/winter 2017 range, including an all-black bodysuit and a hooded sweater dress.
As a self-confessed Beyoncé super fan, Laverne revealed a range of shots on her Instagram account, saying: “I feel all tingly getting to finally share this beautiful new campaign with you all”. And we’re getting tingly just looking at her slay!
But the greatness doesn’t stop there — joining the 45-year-old actress are South Sudanese model Grace Bol, 64-year-old dancer Karen McDonald and freckled Yeezy model Ralph Souffrant, continuing the brand’s commitment to celebrating diversity and people of colour.

The campaign comes in the same week that Beyoncé revealed a range of empowering pictures of friends and family to mark her 36th birthday, capturing everyone from Serena Williams to Michelle Obama in her striking black Formation outfit.
While Mrs Knowles-Carter has always selected people of colour to model for Ivy Park, Cox is said to be the first transgender woman to slip into her sportswear. Let’s hope this is just the beginning of a beautiful blossoming relationship.
The Ivy Park autumn/winter 2017 collection is available now at Topshop.
