Is This The End Of Ombre? Brunettes Are Back In A Big Way

It’s hard to imagine a world where ombre hair isn’t a thing, but rewind about five years and you’ll be safely back in one-colour territory. No balayage kits in Boots, no silver shampoo to worry about and definitely no lengthy salon trips with that unnatural ‘make it look natural’ request.

And it seems that 2019 is set to eliminate all of the above, as ombre hair steps aside to make way for the classic brunette. Great news for those who are already dark of hair, obvs!

…Where has it gone?

Quite simply, where celebs and influencers lead, us normies often follow – and they’re guiding us towards the dark (hair) side already. Don’t believe us? Take a look at these recent hair makeovers…

Vlogger Zoe Sugg aka Zoella is known for her cute ombre cut, but recently took the plunge and returned to a gorge chocolatey brown. We can only imagine how many gals will be taking this pic with them on their next trip to the hairdressers!

Likewise, Kim Kardashian has gone back to her roots (pun intended) by embracing super dark locks. Over the past few months she’s been blonde and even pink, but it seems she’s now settled on brunette for good.

Absolute babe Selena Gomez has also waved goodbye to her signature ombre ‘do for a deep, dark brown shade. We mean, any colour suits her, but we’re particularly loving Selena as a fully-fledged brunette.

How to dye it yourself

If you’re currently rocking an ombre ‘do or have naturally light hair, it couldn’t be easier to go dark. Semi-permanent dyes are ideal for those who want to give the shade a try before fully committing, while permanent dyes will give you a long-lasting brunette effect.
