Gender fluidity is finally hitting the high street thanks to H&M’s progressive new unisex denim collection.
Noted, androgyny in fashion is certainly nothing new, but it has been confined to the catwalks for too long.
Now, everyone can get involved, in a move which may be particularly welcomed by those with non-binary gender identities.
The aptly named Denim United (we promise it’s not a football team, yet) boasts jeans, shorts, shirt dresses, dungarees and more – as seen modelled here:
Marybeth Schmitt, H&M spokeswoman, described the launch as “very natural” for the company. “Fashion is constantly evolving and intersecting and today we see there are no boundaries in democratic style. Fashion should always be inclusive,” she said, adding that the casual pieces “make for the quintessential normcore look” when combined with high neck T-shirts and oversized hoodies.
The Denim United range is made from sustainable fabrics and arrives online on 23 March.
