Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best footballers in the world – and one of the most charitable, too. Beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder, but many would argue that he’s also one of the finer looking sportsmen.
That’s what makes this bronze bust of him, unveiled at the Aeroporto Da Madeira, which was being renamed after their most famous resident, so hilarious.

So far the statue has received a questionable response. Some query whether it resembles Ronaldo in any way at all, while others simply labeled it “horrifying” for its gargoyle-esque qualities.
Of course, it’s not the first time Ronaldo’s face has been badly interpreted. A silver statue of the sports star was kindly gifted to the people of Madrid by Nike, which depicts a far fleshier footballer than we’re used to seeing.
