Two new Harry Potter books are joining the Hogwarts universe later this year, but don’t get too excited just yet.
While die-hard fans of the wizarding world will no doubt be thrilled with the news, others may find the titles a bit, well, underwhelming.
Harry Potter: A History of Magic – The Book of the Exhibition will be released in conjunction with a British Library event opening in October to celebrate the 20th anniversary of JK Rowling’s hit series.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has sold 450 million copies in 29 languages since its publication on 26 June, 20 years ago, as well as sparking a $7 billion film franchise starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
This book will let fans explore the Hogwarts curriculum, learning more about the likes of Herbology, Potions and the Care of Magical Creatures.
Sounds a bit…academic? Then why not try the second book, Harry Potter: A Journey Through A History of Magic, which takes readers on a mystical journey discussing everything from unicorns to ancient witchcraft and features unseen sketches, illustrations and manuscript pages.
That’s the first thing on our Christmas wish list sorted, then.
