Katy Perry is heading across the pond to play Glastonbury alongside Ed Sheeran and it’s safe to say that the pop princess is psyched.

The “Chained to the Rhythm” singer was confirmed to perform by the festival’s first official line-up poster, unveiled to great fanfare on its Twitter page this morning.

Minutes after the big reveal,  Katy posted her own excitable announcement, captioned “I can has tea and crumpets?!”.

The 32-year-old will be joined by The xx, The National, Biffy Clyro, Stormzy, Lorde, Major Lazer and hundreds more bands, at the Worthy Farm extravaganza in June. Many acts are still to be announced.

Bee Gee Barry Gibb will play the Sunday afternoon “legend” slot most recently filled by Lionel Richie and Dolly Parton.

Radiohead and Foo Fighters headline the Friday and Saturday night respectively, with Sheeran closing the show on Sunday with tracks from his record-breaking latest album Divide.

Thank you, Glastonbury, for the proof on this rather dreary Thursday morning that summer is just around the corner and it’s time to dig out our tent!
