Girl Goes Viral By Creating Her Own DIY Met Gala Looks

DIY Met Gala Looks

Hours of intricate embroidery, beading, sewing and design went into making the fantastic gowns that adorned the Met Gala Ball red carpet yesterday.

Rihanna fully delivered on her promise to wow us all with an abstract Commes de Garcons dress made of circular swatches. Meanwhile, Katy Perry bewitched us with a frightening red Maison Margiela number and Kendall Jenner got her bum out.

Sadly for Quenlin Blackwell, an unknown star of fashion no doubt waiting to be discovered, she didn’t get her Met Gala invitation through the post on time. So she decided to show her DIY creations online instead.

And low, a viral video was born:

Not sure exactly what our favourite was, but the broom and the head basket are definitely in competition with each other.

While Quenlin was modelling up a storm in her living room, the fashion elite were wearing their second looks of the evening to the afterparties.

Rihanna went to hers dressed like a 70s funk goddess, while Katy Perry went all out bizarre in a nude leotard and a sparkly pink cape:
