Take That fans squeal with joy, Star Wars fans face palm themselves with disbelieve.
This week’s most unlikely entertainment story is that Gary Barlow will appear in the next Star Wars movie.
The singer/songwriter will play an undisclosed cameo role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, he has confirmed.
“I’m not a storm trooper, but I am in it,” Barlow told Ross King on Lorraine – the source of all cult movie information (…).
“Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role.”
Tom Hardy is also rumoured to be appearing in Episode 8, which is set to hit cinemas on 15 December 2017.
Now if only they could find an Ewok costume for Jason Orange.
The news comes a week after it was announced that Star Wars director JJ Abrams has made the surprising decision to produce a new series about the life and success of world famous drag queen RuPaul.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Abrams’ version of the RuPaul story will be semi-autobiographical, and chart his rise from New York club kid and drag queen to international fame.
Abrams will work alongside RuPaul himself as executive producer.
The show, which is yet to be named, could be set to hit small screens later this year.
