A new study has confirmed what we knew all along: Edinburgh is a gorgeous, glorious haven of peace and tranquility.
Measuring everything from household debt to number of green spaces, and unemployment levels to hours of sunshine per day, the study revealed that Edinburgh scored near perfect marks in all aspects. With its stunning public gardens, historic streets and spectacular architecture just a few of its attractive features, it’s not hard to see why its inhabitants are so happy with life.
Closely trailing behind were Leeds, Southampton, Liverpool and Bristol, all of which scored well across 17 different factors, including race and gender equality, as well as perception of security and mental heath issues.
Unsurprisingly, London topped the list of the UK’s most stressful cities, followed by other major locations Manchester, Birmingham, Leicester and Glasgow.
There’s even more good news for Edinburgh dwellers though, as it has also been named as the seventh least stressful place in the whole world, with the likes of Stuttgart, Luxembourg, Hamburg, Bern and Munich filling up the rest of the top ten spots.
So, if you ever needed a reason to pay Edinburgh a visit, we’re pretty sure this is it. Stress-free weekend away, anyone?
