If you’re got a new crush GOOD NEWS, if you’re happy and soppy in a relationship GOOD NEWS, if you’re single GOOD NEWS. Basically, if you often find yourself musing over your love life, GOOD NEWS, because Ed Sheeran’s new album ÷ can finally start soundtracking your life.
Our favourite flame-haired ‘stadium busker’ has dropped his third bunch of new hits this morning and you can stream it on Spotify right here, right now (see below).
÷ is Ed’s first release in three long years and is all but guaranteed to be the biggest-selling album of the year. That is, unless Tay decides to throw one into the mix, in which case it could be a closely-fought battle between friends.
Ed’s been out of the spotlight for a year, chilling at home and travelling the world with his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, but he still found time to be accidentally cut on the face by Princess Beatrice as she mock knighted James Blunt with a sword (one of our favourite stories of recent times – our second is that Ed “cracked pal Justin Bieber right in the cheek with a golf club” after he’d asked him to hit a golf ball out of his mouth…).
Ed has already said that new song “Perfect” is about “being in love” with Cherry, who he met at school and started dating in 2015. “Shape of You” and “Castle On The Hill” made history last month after he released them on the same day and they reached numbers one and two on the UK Top 40 respectively.
