Dating to get ahead in your job – sounds a bit dodgy right? A new app, however, is hoping to help women get a helping hand in their careers, without any funny business involved!
The company that brought us Bumble (y’know that online dating app that allows women to take the lead with initiating a convo) and Bumble BFF (the app where you can find yourself a new gal pal) has gone one better and launched a new sister app called Bumble Bizz.
Currently available in the US, Canada and UK, Bumble Bizz enables users to connect with other professionals, in a female-first platform – and it intends to go global.
In an interview with Time, Bumble’s CEO, Witney Wolfe said “I think a lot of women to this day struggle with feeling respected and feeling like an equal when it comes to business connection.
“They feel that sometimes when they’re approaching something in a purely platonic or business connection, they feel like the conversation goes in a different direction.”
And quite right, too.
Just like Bumble’s two other apps, Bumble Bizz uses the same concept of women making the first move, which sounds right up our street. Not to mention, the usual swiping left and right rules still apply.
If you already use the original Bumble or Bumble BFF – you don’t have to worry about any of these apps taking up extra room on your phone as Bumble Bizz is technically just another update.
Just remember which profile you’re on before sending a message. Not sure the head honcho of a corporate company will appreciate your wink face emoji as much as your potential date would!
Who knew ‘networking’ could be so fun?
