Each year, Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel fashion shows get more and more theatrical. But the AW17 collection at Paris Fashion Week might just have outdone them all.

Why? Because he built a Chanel rocket and launched it live inside the glass ceiling of the Grand Palais.

It also featured the three most in demand models in the world right now: Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and sister Bella Hadid.

It’s pretty cold in space apparently, so what better place to wear layered tweed with silver calf-high boots and collars round enough to fit a astronaut’s helmet on? We can’t think of one.

Gigi’s outfit was a 60s-inspired houndstooth jump suit complete with MJ-style fingerless gloves.

Bella Hadid bought tights back to the mainstream in a dual-layered woollen shift dress.

Kendall kept out the cosmic chill in a woollen tweed coat with a furry trim, galactic tights and space-appropriate silver footware.

The finale featured lift off surrounded by the cast of models to the tune of Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’. Obviously.
