Granted, the name conjures up a slightly more palatable image in our minds than, say, “The Meat Market” or “The Honey Trap”, but there’s something about the name of Bumble’s new dating bar, “The Hive”, that has left us feeling slightly squirmy.
Perhaps its BECAUSE HIVES LOOK LIKE THIS WITH HUNDREDS OF BEES CLAMBERING OVER EACH OTHER AND RUBBING THEIR BUTTS EVERYWHERE:
Anyway. The quirky new pop-up bar, where you can supposedly meet potential new partners IRL and not through pictures of their genitalia online, has opened up for a month.
As well as grabbing a beverage and admiring their wall of dick pics (pictures of famous men called Richard. True story), the space will also be hosting a series of talks on love, sex and relationships, as well as – gasp – allowing you to attend the venue WITH FRIENDS and WITHOUT the unfortunate air of desperation.
Sadly for UK residents, this is one for the city of New York at the moment, but perhaps it’ll buzz over to Britain soon enough.
