Many of you woke up this morning to see your social media feeds in a state of panic over the Queen.
It seems that an ‘emergency meeting’ has been called for all royal staff to attend at Buckingham Palace at 10pm this evening (a long, 12-hour emergency, some of you may have noticed, can’t really be that urgent).
At the moment, no-one knows why this is, and palace officials have refused to comment on it.
The BBC’s royal correspondent Peter Hunt, however, appears to have the inside track. He said it is “not about the health of the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh”.
Which is great news for several reasons, but mainly as we can now wildly speculate as to what the meeting will be about without feeling too bad about it.
Has there been a dramatic change to the house jams, we wonder? Does her Majesty now wish to take high tea at 2pm rather than noon? Are they planning to build a wall around the Palace to keep Trump out during his State visit later this year?
