Matt Damon has confirmed that human rights barrister Amal Clooney is expecting twins with her hubby, Hollywood actor George Clooney.
Damon, Clooney’s co-star in Ocean’s Eleven, told Entertainment Tonight Canada that he was “thrilled” and “almost started crying” when his pal pulled him aside on set last autumn.
But when Damon found out that Clooney, 55, had broken the “12-week rule” and blurted the couple’s exciting news a month early, he had to school him in keeping shtum.
“I was so happy for him and I was like, ‘How far along is she?’ and he goes, ‘Eight weeks’,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Are you out of your mind? Don’t tell anybody else! Don’t tell anybody else! Don’t you know the 12-week rule?’ Of course he doesn’t. I was like, ‘Just shut up man!’”

Damon attended the Clooneys’ extravagant Venice wedding in September 2014 and thinks Amal, 39, is a “remarkable woman”.
“She’s amazing. He hit the jackpot. Just on every level,” he gushed. “They’re going to be awesome parents. Those kids are lucky.”
News of the pregnancy broke on US chat show The Talk, with host Julie Chen telling viewers that the twins are due in June.
Rumours had been swirling since last month, when Amal seemed to be showing a slight baby bump at a Netflix screening in London. The couple are yet to confirm the news themselves.
The Clooneys will be in good company on the ‘A-list parents of twins’ list, as Beyonce and Jay Z confirmed just last week that they are also expecting double the new baby joy.
The singer made the big announcement on Instagram, writing alongside a stunning picture of herself cradling a blossoming bump: “We would like to share our love and happiness.
“We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”
