Adele has been honoured with the Global Success BRIT Award to mark her incredible career in the music industry.
The London-born singer was awarded the prestigious gong at Wednesday night’s ceremony and accepted it via video link, as she was unable to attend the event at London’s O2 Arena.
Joking in her clip, Adele – who later revealed she is currently in Australia – said: “I’m somewhere pretty dry, hence the fake bush behind me to make it look like I’m somewhere nice.”
But more seriously, she added: “Thanks so much for the Global Success Award, means the world to me.
“You’ve all been amazing this past year. I’ve had the best time, it’s been the best one yet.”
Thank you @BRITs ❤️ I actually am on the other side, of the world! I'm in Australia, that's why I'm not there. Have a great night x

In true Adele style, she then rounded up her acceptance speech by saying: “Have a great time and congratulations to everyone else who is even nominated, it’s amazing. See you later! Ta-ra!”
This is Adele’s seventh BRIT Award, having previously scooped gongs for Best British Single (Hello) and British Female Solo Artist.
Following her latest win, Adele tweeted: ‘Thank you @BRITs. I actually am on the other side, of the world! I’m in Australia, that’s why I’m not there. Have a great night x.”
