Can you remember a time when emojis didn’t exist? Nope, us neither.
Where would we be without that little crying with laughter face, the ability to give a thumbs up over WhatsApp and the oh so cute beating red heart.
Sometimes, no words need even be written. A emoji says it all.
Well hold on to your phones, as there is a whole new keyboard’s worth coming at ya. A whopping 56 to be exact.
So what little delights will we soon be passing to our mates?
Emoji flags 2017
At last, the new emoji keyboard will now feature a English, Welsh and Scottish flag.
Yoga emoji 2017
Wanna invite your BFF to a yoga class. You know what to do.
Shower and climbing 2017 emojis
Feeling steamy, this could be the emoji for you.
Food emojis new for 2017
Yum. Send your mate a broccoli.
2017 genie and elf emojis
There’s even a couple of genies, elves and zombies. The latter might be good following a heavy night.
mythical emojis 2017
Feeling mythical? Now you can express your inner mermaid and merman…or vampire.
breastfeeding and headscarf emoji 2017
Emoji is becoming even more inclusive, thanks to a lady wearing a headscarf and a breastfeeding mother. Oh, and a woman mage.
New face 2017 emojis
Ever wanted to raise an eyebrow but found it physically impossible? Now you can.
Face Emojis 2017
Hurrah! Now you can swear, without actually swearing.
There’s a whole host of new animals…plus a dinosaur.
For starters, there’s an actual swearing face – and you won’t turn the air blue when using it, as its chops are covered with a censored expletive box. Clever.
There’s also a bearded bloke, lady in a headscarf and his and hers yoga bunnies. Plus, some mythical beings too, such as a mermaid and merman, genies and vampires.
If it’s food you’re after, emoji has it covered. Expect a hunk of meat, a fortune cookie and a nice healthy sprig of broccoli. You know, in case the moment ever arises for one of those.
There are set to be some cute animals too, such as a hedgehog, a giraffe and a..err. sauropod dinosaur.
So when can we expect to be pinging a sauropod off to pals? Now that the new emojis have been approved by Unicode, they can be released in updates on iOS and Android. Apple’s iOS 11 update is due in September, so you’ve not got long to wait.
