We are all guilty of clock-watching at work, but a new vacancy has come up for possibly the best – but slowest – job in the world.
Henry the 17-year-old African tortoise is in need of a new walker who will be able to accompany him on trips to his local park.
When we say local, we actually mean Central Park in New York, but who minds emigrating if a dream job is at stake? Did we mention it pays £8.50 an hour…?
Henry’s owner, Amanda Green, posted her plea on Twitter earlier this week and she has been inundated with offers and applications from people vying for the coveted position.
She told Gothsmist: “I’m in search of a responsible animal lover to take Henry to Central Park on warm weekdays.
“I live a few short blocks from Central Park and have a pet stroller to get him to and from. Once he’s there, Henry can roam freely under your watchful eye.”
Amanda added that “no tortoise experience” is necessary but animal and people skills are a necessity.

Henry is actually quite a celeb and has a whopping 11.2 thousand followers on Instagram. In one snap, the happy chap can be seen hanging out with a hot dog seller and, in a video clip, he is being pushed along in the aforementioned converted pushchair. NO ACTUAL JOKE.
We’re not sure the job is worth the airfare to the States, but we have sure as heck started following Henry on social media. What a dude.
