Prom isn’t something us Brits have to endure at school, but if we did have to, we hope we’d have the same levels of sass as this student did when she couldn’t find a date for the dance.
Did she run and whine to Kylie Jenner? Hole herself up in her room sobbing into a litre tub of icecream and watching The Notebook? No. Instead, she took her Harvard acceptance letter as her date. It didn’t answer her back, it showed commitment and a bright future. And we think it’s the perfect accessory.
Priscilla Samey, 17, actually had seven other Ivy League school acceptance letters to take with her, including Princeton and Yale, should she have wanted to. But Harvard had an extra special place in the high school senior’s heart.
She tweeted the following – which has since gone viral:

In an interview with Mic, Samey said she plans to major in political science, and then get a business and law degree
“The best date is all your college admissions,” she told the site.

On what her fellow students actually thought of her ‘out there’ relationship, she said: “They all thought it was so funny and cute. I didn’t get any negative feedback like I thought I would and they all were very proud and supportive.”
Giving advice to other teens looking to get into universities, she said: “Be true to yourself. There’s a lot of pressure nowadays that there’s a ‘type’ colleges want.
“Stick to your roots, and write essays that reflect who you are as a person.”
