The Queen last night called for an emergency meeting to take place at 10am today with her staff from across the country.
Instantly, the speculation was rife about the health of all the members of the royal family, in particular, Prince Philip who is 95.
But today Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Philip will be retiring from royal duties.
