There were tear-laced bikini parties, semi-naked hunks made out of rice paper perching atop cupcake frosting, and drinking games that involved downing a double finger every time contestants used the word “journey”. The ‘Love Island’ finale was not only celebrated by the British public last night, but its passing was practically mourned.

I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do without #LoveIsland in my life. And I’ve got over losing a foot.

However, those feeling bereft of entertainment and devoid of mugginess can breath a small sigh of relief today, as the show isn’t over just yet. A reunion show will bring back the couples – and some oily randoms you’ve probably forgotten about – when it airs on Sunday 30 July. That’s this Sunday, in case you had any plans you needed to cancel.
“It’s been one hell of a summer,” Caroline Flack said at the end of last night’s pseudo-farewell.
“Before you start suffering withdrawal symptoms fear not, next week we’ll be reuniting every single Islander from this year for a spectacular ‘Love Island’ reunion show.”
There is a God.
Further more, there are also rumours that producers are considering the prospect of a Chris and Kem reality TV bromance spin-off show.
A TV insider allegedly told a red top tabloid we will not mention but rhymes with The Bun:
“Chris and Kem’s friendship has captured the nation – everyone has loved watching the bond they have together.
“Viewers have even called for the pair to be eligible to win this series as a twosome.
“Bosses don’t want to see an end to their bromance and are already brainstorming possible TV show ideas to pitch for when Love Island is over.”
More news on that if/when we have it.
